Freestyle Fitness Trainer
As a married woman and mother to a 9 and 7 year old, I had a grocery list of excuses as to why I never had time to workout. I topped the scales at nearly 200 lbs. and wore a size 14 in clothing. I had high cholesterol and walked the line on being diagnosed as a diabetic. The person that I saw in my mirror in the morning getting dressed, was overweight but, I didn’t look that bad….or so I told myself. It wasn’t until May of 2010 that I saw a picture of myself and realized that I didn’t recognize the person who was standing next to my son on his graduation day. It was at that point that I made a commitment to begin my weight loss journey. The most important thing that I learned was that exercise alone can not sustain a contaminated body. I had to change by nutritional habits and understand that this was a lifestyle change that I will need to make FOREVER. Sure, I’ve had struggles along the way. A life threatening car accident in
November 2013 led to a broken ankle and broken nose. As soon as I was able, I started back slowly with Aqua Zumba and soon built up to taking Zumba classes again. On June 28, 2014, I earned my Zumba certification and became an instructor for Freestyle Fitness, the place where most of my journey thus far has led me. Now, a size 6 and pushing 40, I am not perfect but I LOVE MY BODY!!!
