Celebrating National Parks and Recreation Month
In celebration of National Parks and Recreation month, we had the pleasure of hosting a few classes at Johnson Park Recreation Center in Conyers, Rockdale County. Many were able to sample the classes we offer for the first time. We had an amazing turnout. It’s great to see your tax dollars at work. Johnson Park Recreation Center has a great facility. If you haven’t had the chance to experience the park grounds and the center, now is the time. It is definitely a wonderful place to exercise, have a picnic, play tennis, walk or run the trail, play field sports, watch a game, swim, or take advantage of the many small businesses that contract out of the facility to bring you a variety of fitness modalities and services. Freestyle Fitness & Nutrition is fortunate enough to be one of the small businesses that contract out of Johnson Park.
I cannot go on without mentioning the superior customer service we continue to receive from the Johnson Park staff. The front desk staff is second to none. LaVonda Bruton, Desiree Briggs, Jasmine Springer, Danny Meador, and Gerald Nolley have been thorough, courteous and efficient in handling transactions for our clients, guests, friends and family. Lead by, Superintendent of Recreation, April Green, who has gone above and beyond to make us feel welcome at Johnson Park. Thank you for your continued leadership. I also want to thank the Aquatics Supervisor, Brad Gibson, and the lifeguards, for their continued support and leadership in helping our programs thrive at Johnson Park Rec.
If you were one of the participants in the festivities at Johnson Park today I’m sure you had a blast. The gym was open to everyone to shoot a little one on one or take on a game of hoops with your friends. The pool was also open to swim a few laps as well. Perhaps you chose to run the treadmill or lift some weights. If you chose to jam with Freestyle Fitness then you had the opportunity to take Aqua Zumba, Zumba Toning or Kangoo Dance.
We offer classes at Johnson Park Rec 7 times per week. It gives county residents access to boutique style fitness at fraction of the cost, 60% cheaper than taking the same classes in Atlanta proper. My staff holds almost 50 years of combined experience in Aquatics, Therapies, Personal Training, Weightloss and Bootcamps, Dance Fitness, Strength Training and Rebound Fitness. We’re excited to partner again with Johnson Park for this coming fall season.
I can remember starting classes at Johnson Park with just 2 guests in the pool for Aqua Zumba. It went on for weeks with just 1 or 2 guests. It was not long before the word got out and more county residents began to join me. I am so grateful for everyone who attends our classes at Johnson Park. Janet Davis and I are proud to have served over 3000 clients over the past 3 years. Many of you continue to attend every class each week. I’m not at all surprised at your loyalty and committment to your fitness goals and your continued support. I know that our classes are “rocking”. We are jamming everytime we hold class. We have been helping you reach the burn, cause if it don’t burn it don’t count.
Today we packed the pool with over 60 people. Many were first timers. While aqua was going on we packed the fitness room with 35+ participants and followed that class up with 20+ for Zumba Toning. Needless to say we were all checking our Fitbits and counting the calories. It was really a great time.
I enjoyed all of you and Johnson Park Rec. I thank you, Janet thanks you and Tammie thanks you for your continued support of Freestyle Fitness & Nutrition. We are pleased to continue to offer you innovative fitness as well as nutrition support. We care and we are committed to excellence.
